Building with noook® fosters the imagination and encourages the act of creativity.

To start with, there are three basic principles. Once you've mastered these, you can get creative and build as big as your dreams.

noook® is as easy as 1-2-3

Simply start by connecting noook discs.

Sit down, open a pack, get creative...

Try slotting noook® discs together like this...

Start off by slotting two noook discs together.

You can join the folds to create an edge...

You can join the folds of each disc to create an edge or ridge.

...or, to make something flat and strong, make sure the folds don't join.

To make something flat and strong, ensure the folds don't join.
To make a corner, bend one of the discs along the fold.

To make a corner, do something like this.

What will you build?

What will you build?

1. Start at the bottom.

Why does this keep falling over?

noook® discs won't stand up easily in just a straight line...

...but this stands up?

...but if you bend one along the central fold, you can create a corner.

Why is this so wobbly?

If noook® discs are arranged unevenly, they won't help to reinforce each other...

...but this is strong and straight?

...but if they're arranged neatly and tightly, they can support one another and be strong.

...and why is this even stronger?

Triangles are one of the strongest shapes around - think Egyptians and their pyramids. Try putting as many triangles into your noook® structure as you can.

2. Then go up.

Why won't this stand up?

...but this does?

And why is this stronger?

But this is stronger still?

3. Finish at the top.

Why does adding noooks® at the top stop the structure wobbling?

...and why does this stop it wobbling in two directions?

...and, if you need some help...

...just ask.

Don't be afraid to ask for help when building with noook®.

4. Get creative.

Sometimes it's not easy being creative. I mean, where do you even start? But luckily... if you know a little bit about how creativity works, it can become a lot easier.

The first thing to know is that new ideas don't come out of nowhere. Instead, new ideas are simply old things that have either been changed, or mixed with another already-existing thing.

So, if you're finding it difficult to get creative... simply do this... find something that interests you... and try to change it - try asking, "How might this be different?"... or try and mix this interesting thing with something else you find interesting.

It's simple... just try asking, "How might this be different?"

What will you build?

5. Experiment.

Make

Test

Try again...

...and to make your ideas really great, remember this: make, test and try again.

Just make something. Experiment. See what works and what doesn't work. And if it doesn't, don't worry - just try again. Simply ask yourself, "How might it be different, so that it works better next time?"

This is how designers, inventors, artists, engineers, scientists, poets and musicians all come up with great ideas and make amazing works of art...and this too is how you should play with noook®.
